This young gentleman was one of the kind people that wanted to talk to us at the protest. He had many stories about micro chips in dogs and how they will eventually be in humans in roughly 5 years time. They are testing the reaction from society with the dogs to see if we think its acceptable. BIG BROTHER is watching you, George Orwell 1984 rings a bell.

Dr Giles Fraser (Canon Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral) expressing his views of the Occupy protesters.

Think the papers might have got a it a little bit wrong by claiming the protestors were a ‘nuisance’.

As I’m sure most people reading this from the UK will know, London has had it’s own branch of the Occupy Movement going on for a few weeks now, with terrible press coverage.

Having been described as ‘anti-capitalist protests,’ not just by The Daily Mail, but by also by the BBC has undoubtedly…

After my visit I came back feeling a little bit deflated, I had gone with such optimism of being able to just sit and gain interesting information and stories from some inspiring people. But this wasn’t the case from my two days of visiting. There was a sort of elitism within the group that were there, I felt that if you didn’t have an in-depth knowledge already about what they were doing they didn’t seem to want to know. I think there must of been an air of suspicion of who was this girl and why is she asking these questions?! The people I found that really wanted to voice their opinions on me where the people that had mental health problems. They informed me with lots of interesting conspiracies of how micro chips will one day be acceptable to put in humans, and how they are making it socially acceptable within dogs first and slowly moving it in to humans. It was a bit of negative and unsuccessful trip on gaining great primary research, however I want to be able to make a spin on this. I felt that they didn’t have the tools to talk to just the general public and this is what I want to focus on within my project now.

When I go visit the Occupy movement I intend to question the people involved to get a better understanding of why they’re and what they’re trying to achieve. I intend to have general conversation with them and try and get some interesting stories without seeming like i’m interrogating them.

Basic questions I will ask.

  1. Name
  2. Age
  3. What are their reasons for being there?
  4. How long have they been attending the protest for/how long they intend to stay?
  5. What do you think you can achieve from this?
  6. What do you think about the lack of news coverage?
  7. Do you think this affected the campaign?
  8. Why do you think there hasn’t been much coverage?

So I think to get a better idea of what is going on in London with the Occupy movement, I think it’s best I go get a personal experience. My aim is to go and interview people with question that I feel are important to be asked. I only gained opinions on the movement from online information and the little info from the news. So it’s time I go experience it for myself.
